Sorry, Jayne, I haven't gotten back to you on this one yet.

New treatments - well, there are some new medicines out there. The scientists keep trying out new and different meds, but they've more or less settled for controlling epilepsy. What would be really nice is a cure. I don't expect to see that during my lifetime, though. There are also some therapies that are being looked into - brain cell transplants, neuromodulation therapies, and gene therapy.

Volumes of folks - No, not really. It always just seems to stay at around 1% of the population

Jae, are there multiple causes and types of epilepsy?

My guess is "yes", but, if there are multiple, then I would anticipate treatments would vary.
Is that correct?

Epilepsy is a jumped up thing ... can come on you at any time! Resembles quantum struggles ..
