You must’ve been cynically waiting to grab it.

Yeah, and I notice the right is trying really hard to normalize racism, misogyny, ableism, lgbt-phobia… and the networks that’ll now be favouring that audience might, instead of speaking truth to power, go along with that as “free speech”.
There’s more behind a comment that is telling people to think that they aren’t thinking for themselves and should therefore be glad to lose access to people speaking truth to power. It’s its own kind of subtle propaganda.

The right?

Are you asserting that you are smart and wise and discerning, and the person you are talking to is dumb and easily fooled?

No I’m just seeing subtle propaganda in that statement and pointing it out. Did you write it? If so, are you sure you aren’t being influenced by those quick to put people like Colbert down due to his clear opposition to the current administration?

(By the way, I haven’t always agreed with all of Colbert’s support of democrats and the military - either. But when he makes a funny that connects, he makes a funny that connects.)
