Yeah, it is kind of like time zones without time zones. Makes it convenient when you're hopping around the country, though. No jet lag going from Shanghai on the coast to a central city like Xian or even Urumqi in Xinjiang (the Westernmost province) since the time remains the same. You just need some awareness of the local hours of work.Depending on where you are in the country it is Bejing time + or - hours, or something like that...I was told it's very easy to figure out but I thought (as it was described to me) that it wasn't much different than a time zone...so if we had it here, I'd be 11:45 AM Ottawa time - 2 hrs
I had to fast for a liver ultrasound the other day. And it was booked for 10:30am with an 8 hour fast required. Getting up at 2am for a "last meal" was not happening so I was pretty hungry until I finally ate. Ended up with a migraine probably triggered by the low blood sugar.Home again at LAST following fasting blood tests. Eating a late breakfast was such a pleasure.
That happened to me when I got my wisdom teeth out - even though I booked the earliest appointment it was over 18 hours before I could get any food in me (from supper the night before to getting home after the appointment).I had to fast for a liver ultrasound the other day.
