See, that's interesting. I didn't think he would actually do it. Of course, the NDP could still keep the Liberals on life support by voting against confidence motions on a case-by-case basis. There just isn't the lifeline the Liberals had with the agreement.
ANd let us be honest, it is not in the NDP's best interest to force an election, If they want to move any of their proposals forward the Liberals are their best hope.

Probably getting tired of Trudeau taking the credit. And to be honest I think Singh might do a better job of the homeless situation and housing.

Maybe, but the NDP is not going to be in government federally anytime soon

Why do you think that is?
Too many people still see them as the radical left and the policies of theirs that people do agree with mysteriously end up as Liberal policies. The Liberals are a party most people in the centre and centre-left are comfortable voting for, even some on the centre-right these days if the Conservatives shift too far right on their so-con agenda. The NDP are also somewhat regional, concentrated heavily in a few urban centres and Western ridings. The Liberals have pretty broad appeal save for Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Okay I get that and do you think his ethnicity hurts his chances? He's Canadian, he's intelligent and well spoken.
Maybe it's time he gets more interviews and some notice during an election....everyone complains about options, well here it is. I'm going to listen, I just hope he gets more press....maybe I won't like what I hear, but maybe I will

I would love to say it does not. Certainly doesn't affect my vote but, then again, I have South Asian family members so not the best indicator. Unfortunately, though, my more pragmatic guess would be that there are people who see a brown guy against two white guys and instinctively (or consciously if they are more overtly bigoted) lean to the white guys. And I'm not necessarily talking KKK white nationalist types here. Just people, some who might be NDP voters in other circumstances, who are uncomfortable with "different" people. To be honest, Kamala Harris likely has the same problem in the US.

Agree, he has a harder race to run, and as far as the NDP goes, Jack Layton almost made it happen....never say never.....especially if they learn how to campaign better to increase our knowledge of what they stand for and their political policies and show clear understanding of knowing what Canadians need, not what politicians think we need.

GIven some comments I remember floating around during the last election it would definitely play a role (though I suspect some of those commenters never would have voted NDP anyway).

Many people won't vote for him because of his religion. I think it's that more than his ethnicity

IMO that orange wave was all about Jack, cult of personality there, coupled with a strange thing happening in Quebec with the collapse of the Bloc.

Poilievre seems to be assuming Trumps example by calling Singh, " Sellout Singh".
Hope he drops it, I find it juvenile.

That may be true, hopefully he will talk about that, abit.
