I guess this will be the final end to the saga, though the settlement a few years ago seemed to take it off the headlines at least. Wonder if she will quietly disappear or take advantage of no longer being active clergy to re-energize and become more public again. With Or Without God was an interesting read as a UU (in fact, it was a UU minister who pointed me to it).

As retired clergy, she will be a member of her region and still bound by the terms of her agreement with the former Toronto Conference AFAIK.

Yes, she has been much less visible & vocal since she settled with conference. She has been doing this substack blog for a while and has spoken quite openly about her health issues.

I wonder why she switched from posting on her personal website. It's still up but it has been inactive for a while now.

Blog sites are easier to manage since they come with their own, pre-built templates or use some kind of template-based software like Wordpress. And they usually have built-in support for things like subscriptions without the user having to do more than click buttons.

Can one do this with or without emotional communications? Word can be heated or otherwise ... alternate flaming ... leaves some of us quite kohl 'de ... a twist of tongue and a golden silence ... and yet some rant! Hostile words preferred by the poles ...

That depends on what she wants her status to be following retirement. Some retain connection to the region so that they continue to be eligible for Retired Supply.

Others disconnect because they are no longer interested in serving the wider Church in any formal capacity.
