Yeah, he was in New Brunswick when I first joined WC, IIRC.I also recall him moving east for a while
Quite a prevalent name here... Speaking of here, I was looking forward to visit from him here on WC. So sad to think I won't have the conversations about Montréal and his family's history here...much more I'm sure.Sorry to hear of this - and thank you @Jill for letting us know of Graeme's passing. I would echo what others have said - an interesting person and for sure a storyteller. I think I recall one story of him rescuing his upside down twins from a snowbank! I also recall him moving east for a while, but missing his beloved Montreal. But more often it would be tales of history, comments on current events, tales of debates and valuing the Jewish traditions of Montreal where healthy discussion was encouraged - he valued that so much. In reading his name, I'm thinking about Decarie Blvd in Montreal - wondering if there is any connection through the family tree.
WC is losing our elders.
The New York Times had a special announcement today about the news that some politicians were tricked through a tour of the Middle East in 1980 into being part of a secret scheme to prompt Iran into holding on to 52 American hostages so Jimmy Carter would lose the election. Many people knew about this scheme decades ago. It is the kind of story Graeme often shared. I have been missing Graeme in our conversations.
I offer my condolences to his family and friends and to those in this community who appreciated his contributions.
I wonder if this leaves me as the resident anarchist.
