Apparently, lumber is an exhorbitant price right now. Hard to believe that, 7 years ago, when I fenced in the back yard, the differential in price between lumber and chain link was minimal, so I went for wood. I'm glad I did it then! (Thanks, Lucy.)

Yeah, someone mentioned that at work yesterday. Fortunately, we have put off redoing the deck until at least next year. Just don't want to deal with contractors during the pandemic and I am neither handy nor healthy enough to do DIY it.

Recalling tough times when basic foods were rationed, I purchased a supply of basic foods! We have flour, sugar, yeast, Baking powder, fats dried fruits etc so we won't starve!! Already had plenty of toilet paper.

Something that seems to have disappeared from our local grocery stores is All Bran, All Bran Buds and Bran Flakes. None available for a month now - but possibly WAS available when we weren't shopping!

We haven't noticed much difficulty, but we aren't busy shoppers. Hubby grabbed the only big bag of flour the other day. He hesitated because it was not the cheaper brand we normally buy. We usually keep a good supply of basic items so probably won't notice as much as some others.

My major concern is for those who have a lower income than us.

Yeah we are seeing the effects of all these ways we have been trying to deal with this Pandemic. All the supply chain issues. The massive inflation. Etc etc etc.

It is understandable to me why the working class globally has been protesting...they are among the most affected

It seems there are food riots in Iraq? And yesterday there were truckers intentionally slowing down traffic in protest of fuel prices?

Egads

I downloaded George Orwell's Wigans Pier and am going to be reading all of it instead of most lol

Challenging times
Glad to see you still posting here :3

We looked for All Bran last fall and could not find it. I suspect all the healthy cereals on the market with fibre hurt the market for economical All Bran and Bran Flakes.

Yet basic concepts and supplies are used as a weapon ... for those on the extremes that one can see from the midst as a despised medium (considered futuristic souls) as prophet, or philosopher prepare for Jerusalem to get a line on yah ...

Know Poo! Powers in the extreme say knowledge is crap ... a governed item?

Until recently we could always find it. Fortunately it isn't an important part of our diet. We like to add a little to our morning oatmeal - for the crunch.

Have shifted to 12 grain full cereals due to rarity of the traditional fibre of this area ... humanity is losing much of its collective fiber! Thus they disperse ... human cracking ...
