Nope CH - I don't make and sell stools. I occasionally sell photos and greeting cards with photos on them though.

I don’t currently have any projects in the go. I have a few I should start for some babies coming to the family but I feel like doing something for me, I just haven’t decided what.

I like the idea of this mystery knitting project! I would definitely be interested in joining next time.

I've given up knitting in the last couple of decades (it's complicated, but I have a late mother and a sister who are much more talented than clumsy-fingered B), but always loved making baby outfits. My babies always had an outfit made by me for them, and one (or more) by their grandma. I always think those stitches are infused with extra love.

Took the toque for my dad off the large loom last night. Just need to add pompom. I had made him one earlier off the usual adult loom but it was too small. Mom got it. Then Dad and I yarn shopped and his is variegated blue. I needed to use 2 strands to get the tension I wanted. That is the only frustrating part of loom knitting-you can't adjust needle size.

There was a good article in The Economist Espresso (a daily new digest app from The Economist) this morning on the growing popularity of knitting but I don't think it's accessible to non-subscribers. Mentions that Ryan Gosling knits between takes when he's on set.

EDIT: See if this works:

Darn! Knitting

Well I picked up the shawl this morning and started knitting. I got to the last row of the last repeat of the lace section and it didn't add up. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I set it down and whined on the Ravelry group thread. I looked again and it turns out I jumped from to 11 to 14. Alas. Well my mistake wasn't as far back as initially thought. I tinked back and am ready to start again. "Tink" for the uninitiated is knit spelled backwards......

Hi Mendalla, I could only see the opening. To get to the full article, had to be registered it appears.

I check off the rows with pencil once I've done them ... otherwise I'd be lost for sure! And I have trouble sometimes following the rows along - so my brilliant solution this week - I had two magnetic bookmarks - so I put one on the back & one on the front of the page, and now I just move it down to 'underline' which row repeat I'm on. Hey - works for me! We all find our ways don't we?

I haven't printed mine out. First mistake. I'm highlighting the lines which works well...... until I close the program. Second mistake. Ah well. Back on track now.

It's funny, as I read your methods it reminds me of items that I have used over the years when I have had to do meticulous work.
I also have checklists at times...ie, step 1, step 2, step 3, done.

I hadn't heart the expression 'tink' before. Very descriptive!

Quilters refer to their equivalent activity as 'frogging' - as in rip
it, rip it.

We also frog. That usually involves taking the needles right out and turning it back into a ball of yarn. Tinking is more nuanced. I often call tinking "unknitting"

I got myself off track last evening - I guess I was feeling a little too sure of myself as I was in the 3rd repeat of the Lacy Zagg pattern - had a glass of wine with a friend before supper & had the TV on too when I started knitting. Double trouble!! Hindsight is 20-20!!! So I was thankful for ,my rescue row - took it off the needle, ripped back to there, put it back on the needle (about 3 times!!) then was back on track ... TV off! Couldn't 'undrink' the wine - hmmm .... "knit" changes to "tink"' wondering about "drink" changing to "knird" - no not quite the same thing. :ROFLMAO: "I'm knirding"?? Anyway - all finished with Clue 2 now - waiting to get Clue 3 tomorrow! I can't imagine what's next!!

Clue three will come in today. I'm almost done clue two. I'm on the garter stitch section and am just farting around.

Only a nerd would knird. :p (Sorry, I couldn't resist...... :ROFLMAO:)

When knirds build to the calves ... it could be something other than farting around ...

Like some people don't believe a crappy environment is telling them something ... de amis?

Natural phantoms ...
