Rest In Peace: tomorrow,tomorrow
Here, then, are at least 10 reasons Trump would make a stellar president.
  1. Trump believes in American exceptionalism.
  2. Trump is tough, unafraid to flex America’s muscles, and has the backbone America needs to take on the evil growing around the world.
  3. Trump is an experienced and tough dealmaker.
  4. Trump is not politically correct; he’s not afraid to say what he believes and has ignited an honest debate.
  5. Trump demands high performance and will fire anyone that doesn’t meet his high standards.
  6. Trump is committed to education.
  7. Trump “built that business” and many more and will run America like a business.
  8. Trump will not balance his job as President with golf and other social events.
  9. Trump’s loyalty will be only to America and Americans—not any political party, special interest group or foreign entity.
  10. Trump will support American laws, the Constitution, and the nation’s borders.
Trump gets it.
Trumps understands the level of concern American’s have with the current direction of the country. America doesn’t just want change. American wants Oblimination – the complete reversal of President Obama’s failed policies.

Aaah, yes.

The corporate business model of government: the Harper version on steroids.

It absolutely makes sense if you don't feel that people should care for the other, that a nation's responsibilities to it's people and the world are the same as what a corporation has to its shareholders. (i didn't include employees in there, as i know it has been a long time since corporations showed responsibility to employees)

I shudder to think that Trump would be elected President. He's entertaining but he seems like an impulsive, egotistical blowhard. He definately seems like someone running just for power and attention. It wouldn't be the first time that entertainers (which he became through reality TV, as an already infamous elite businessman) have been elected to political office in the US. But Trump is too over the top and I don't think he is in touch whatsoever with the struggles everyday people face there, or world affairs. He lives in a world of his own. He makes Mitt Romney seem totally sensible, when I think of all the fuss over Mitt.

I don't think he'll be elected (I hope...I'd pass out from shock). We've seen this kind of crazy circus before in previous elections, with the Tea Party crowd - it gets good ratings but I think Americans with come to their senses and elect someone (reasonably) reasonable.

I have a neighbour that likes Trump ... he thinks Trump expresses the love of western industriousness ... working one's elf into a corner that make the thought process a dull option ... thus they remain ... in the dark!

Is there light there in what one could potentially learn? Is there potential if only quantum ... bi chance?

Although I don't 'self describe' as Christian I feel very tempted to say:

"I pray for the electorate in both Canada and the US. God of all people - please send some good candidates to each of those countries. Give the current contenders a big serving of common sense and great big hearts that include the poorer members of their populations in all decisions. Amen"

Is common sense a goal of people that would like to exceed that without understanding ... being that passion is really disturbing to the understanding mode ...

Joining you in prayer if I may.

Luckily Trump will never get near the White House. I doubt he'll be nominated and if he is he'll lose in a landslide in the General Election. I fact I bet a lot of mainstream Republicans would vote Democratic, maybe for the first and only time in their life to make sure Trump loses.

How much actual support do you think he has, @Jon71?...beyond entertainment value, that is.

Here, politics looks bland in comparison - maybe the "Trump Show" going on there will get more people out voting (good comedy fodder - Colbert woulda had a hayday)? Just, hopefully, not for him.

Not much support. I've heard supporting him described as "whiskey courage". The first primaries and caucuses don't take place until early next year and the process doesn't end until next spring. That is when people will get serious about choosing someone who could be the leader of the free world. This much in advance it's easy to say "hey I really like the loud mouth reality tv. guy" and tell that to any pollster who will listen. When it comes to actual voting I think he'll fade pretty quickly. In addition to his lack of gravitas I think the more thoughtful Republicans will eventually line up behind someone they consider more electable, probably Jeb Bush or maybe Gov. Scott Walker if Bush falters.

Trump has no policies, and no understanding of foreign affairs. He also runs, like Hitler, Bush and Harper, on people's fears and hysteria. He's running because he has a colossal ego that demands constant attention.

As president, he would be a disaster - but we've seen quite a few of those in Washington.

However, the alternative is probably Clinton. She a disaster, too.

The reality is democracy no longer exists in the U.S. Both parties are owned by billionaires who direct policy to benefit themselves. And the cost of running for office is so great that only wealthy people, paid off by big business, can run. There is no possibility of a third party.

The U.S. is also in social disaster. Greed and media propaganda controlled by billionaires have effectively destroyed the U.S. We are watching the collapse of an empire - unless it commits suicide first by going to war against Russia or China.

Does a disaster like a card Trump ... lead to fall of the Empire ... a dark force to the falsely empirical (or declaring they believe in equity)??????

Do you have prescience regarding the collapse of empires? Causes some men to sing worried songs ... and thus the Song Of Solomon was eliminated ... we do not listen to the harmony of wisdom ... thus it goes to the other side of Koine!

Just imagine ...

Trump is the product of a falling empire. And it takes no prescience to see where this is going.
Big business, through free trade, has been released from any control by any country. It's free to exploit, to brutalize, to kill all over the world. It's free to take as much money as it wants from its own country and others. It's free to take its money and avoid taxes. It's free to pollute - as Canadian mining companies do in Central America and Africa - especially in Congo.
The only thing American big business needs the American people for is fighting its wars.

There's a terrible rise in poverty and hunger in the U.S. as uncontrolled greed destroys its own market by its greed, and so destroys itself. To risk a nuclear war with Russia and China in order to defend a Ukrainian government made up of naziis (real ones) and international bankers is insane. But the risk is being taken because American dominance in the world is declining in the face of Chinese, Indian, and some South American growth. The age of western dominance that began in 1492 is close to an end. The city of Detroit is just a foretaste.

And the American government cannot help the American people. First, it is dominated by billionaires who set government policy. Secondly, the billionaires demand that money be spent (very lavishly and corruptly) on 'defence' industries - not on the American people.

Trump is not actually running for president. He's just a sideshow, probably being paid by the dems to create a diversion to keep people from looking closely at Hilary. She is the next pres and Bill the First Lady.

It's hard to argue against the idea that Trump is a Democrat plant. Still, it's not a feather in the cap of Republicans that so many of them are so quick to support a guy who makes a point of saying the most hateful things he can think of.

Clinton as 1st lady? I always got the idea that in every man there was a bit of a grand mother scheme ... a grand myth if you don't mind me speaking of myths of the mind ... transcended into the physical realm ... even as bits of previous collapse of equity ... empirically speaking !

You could construct something intangible from such descents of decency ... and thus it was pita, or In Nanna ... core values?
