One of the behaviours I have seen around this new religion or Belief System of Identity Politics or Social Conflict Theory followers is there are certain people that they deserve to be hounded etc, they have tribal signifiers for them and call them Nazis or White Supremacists or fascists (esp when they aren't)

Here is a short twitter thread by someone who was there at Kosovo. Chilling how they came across similar words that I have come across from these believers.

Sad, really.

Ps. I've already seen what tends 2 happen when one of their own steps out of line; they become othered and an oppressor. Or even when an oppressed person stands up to them; they are shunned and made into an oppressor.

There is a cult like faction that spends an inordinate amount of time calling attention to “indentity politics” on the left, when it is they who are stirring up the divisions by totally misrepresenting what it identity politics is about. To compare things like the whole overblown controversy over gender pronouns (JP made a problem up and took it to the bank - monetizing the SJWs, he thought, was “bloody hilarious”), and the continued struggle for equal rights for women and minorities is like the Balkan wars, would, I am sure, be insulting to many. The Balkan wars were about nationalism, stoking nationalism and fueling ethno-religious identity politics. The same game the right in this Trump/ Brexit, and neo- fascist time period is playing. Their purpose is not about evolving human rights. To conflate the two is erroneous.

For one thing, Canada and the US have long been home to diverse multi-ethnic, and multicultural communities. They are huge countries, geographically. Diversity really is our strength - evolving diversity and inclusion has been good for us and anywhere in the world where it happens...and there is a concerted effort coming from the right to weaken it.

As if the white nationalists and populists adjacent to them, playing the “I’m a classical liberal” card (when, not really), are not identitarian. They are so into identity politics! They have group identity and ideology, that intersects - yes it does - with other far right leaning group identities and ideologies.

Be cautious ... remain balanced in the medium that few believe exists ... thus only dual choice for some without mean in!

Excite vs incite! Legitimately cranked ... either way ... left and right hand rules in magnetic electronics ... buried in the irony of Kirsh off loss? Do tell ... ornot!

Although we might like that to be true, Kimmio, there isn't necessarily a direct, or an immediate correlation. The most successful societies, to date, anyway, have had relatively homogeneous populations, with the proviso that these be large enough to maintain a healthy genetic diversity. Multi-culturalism is a noble goal, but one that must be fostered with a great deal of care. Who is trampling on whose rights if I protest my Muslim or Baptist neighbour's religious objections to the new sex ed curriculum, which I think fosters the rights of all people, particularly my LGBTQ neighbour?

Not sure that’s true. Even the most homogenous societies have fallen. There can always be reasons to divide, even among the same culture. Canada has been pretty successful as a multicultural society.

As neighbours all you can do is agree to disagree and let the courts figure it out. I feel the same about politically conservative neighbours. We both have a right to be here even if I don’t like how they vote. That has always been the case. I couldn’t handle a mono cultural place. It would bother me. It’s already too monocultural in this town.

Cultures mix and morph and change...they always have. There is always going to be pushback from the previous generations and xenophobes, for awhile.

Do Xenophobes have wings like claustrophobes? Then there are bats with agoraphobia ... needing darkness to fool them into the BS that they are hidden! Hue M'N is a dark domain ... thus ole bats hang out about there ... a gravid affection ...

Adds hues to a colourless Tory other wisened ...
