I hope your son has been reaching out for support to Tourette’s groups. I have a friend whose son also has Tourette’s though diagnosed as a young teen so I suspect he had much more obvious tics
With medication and understanding he is now 20’s and doing well. When I talk to him there are no obvious tics and he has learned cope and joke about it
Good luck. It’s a big thing to get a diagnosis of anything long term, especially when you are young and vulnerable
Good to hear he's responding well to the meds - does that put you a bit more at ease? Teens often don't want to be seen 'different' - even as they struggle to separate themselves from their childhood & family identities & create themselves as unique individuals. So I can see how he might not yet want to seek out support groups - perhaps he's looking at stuff onlline, unknown to you and undiscussed. It's hard as a parent to be feeling both the pull and push of life with teens - but I'm glad you're finding ways to respect his need for privacy - so crucial to that relationship with him. Hang in there Boots!
