Wondercafe2 is now set up on HTTPS and not just HTTP.
The S stands for secure, due to encryption

Please start using the secure version, and if you use a bookmark to get here, change your bookmark.

You can either delete the old one by right clicking on it and selecting delete, and then adding the new. You can also right click, select properties and edit in the S.

Further to this:

Using "https" rather "http" at the beginning of the address means that your communications with the site, including your password, are encrypted. It's not foolproof or perfect (there are ways to hack it if one knows enough), but it provides at least a good baseline of security. Banks, online stores, and even many other forum sites already encourage or enforce the use of https. We are just playing catch-up.

hee hee - super secure spy proof version now!!

To clarify: I used to just type wondercafe2.ca in the address bar at the top of my browser window. Now, I'm going to type WonderCafe2 until my browser remembers that that is the updated version. Otherwise it will continue to default to the former WonderCafe2 (without the new security S).

Right? I'm young and hip and edgy and cool... and I don't know for sure that I getcha. I know that there are people here less young (but no less hip, edgy, or cool) than me who may need more info.

Thanks @Hilary ! I was focusing on the bookmark aspect, but yes, that also applies to typing in the address if accessing the site by typing it in everytime.

I get here by clicking a bookmark. Do I have to change that somehow? Will I now always have to type in the address?

Hmm. . . I usually just get in by Googling. It takes me to the non secure version. I guess bookmarking is the best solution.

Google will eventually catch up, but when I was away ie. not using my usual computer I found the same thing. Right now, most of google is still getting the unsecured site.

Google takes me to the secured site (once I have used it) once as long as I don't clear my browsing history. If I clear the history, it reverts back to the unsecured site.

Just experimenting on a lazy afternoon. :nerd:

Relaxation is a sense of leisure sensation ... few get it due to confinement for ... limited excess!

I have now updated the "base URL", which means that when you follow internal links like the "Continue Reading" buttons on the front page, the various tabs, the Term & Rules, and so on, it will use https:. I was finding that these links were still using http: which "kicked me out" since I had my credentials saved for https. Final step should be to force https as the only allowed method of access but I'm not sure how to do that yet. Will investigate.

Investigation ... the fore path to change and alteration of firm statues!

Like carving stones in some circumstances ...

Wasn't there a scene in a wedding arranger movie in which a prick was broken from a hard impression of davidas ?

Then daffidas is something else in Welsh!
