I wish I could teleport you to my place to help me with my place. You sure have a gift. I like your idea about decorating as a volunteer activity. I bet there would be lots of help. It can give someone a real lift to have their place freshened up and designed to work for them with stuff they already have or begged, borrowed (not stolen though) items. I have rarely bought anything new. I bought a new sofa once and it took two years for it to absorb old cigarette smoke and mould odours (ubiquitous in cheap apartments), so I won't be doing that again.
Actually, online on some sites, people here tend to mention “from smoke free (and/or) pet free home” if applicable...so far I’ve taken them at their word and it’s been fine. I bought a couple of couch cushions that still had the Winners tags on, from a woman who I initially had a hard time communicating/ arranging a pick up with time over email. Turns out she lives right near here. The pillows had some cat or dog hair on them (minimal). So I used a lint thing and sprayed them with unscented fabreeze (they didn’t smell and looked new other than a bit of pet hair, but that stuff is mostly water and alcohol - which would kill some germs if there were any to worry about - but her home looked decent - and fabreeze really soaks in and seems to be colour-safe), and everything’s fine. I wash anything that can go in the washing machine and dryer (and sometimes gamble with stuff that shouldn’t go in the machines). I don’t want to bring filthy stuff in...some normal wear/ use, is ... normal. At VV and other thrift stores, I can inspect while I’m there before I buy.

Good morning, all! Coffee and tea cart is ready! We managed to score a few Pumpkin Spice muffins today as well, for those who like them! Enjoy!

Thank you but I made my own ... the flight across such a political territory would surely add toxins in the travel ... look what it dig down under ... in GEO Ghia! It is nothing but a mire mess!

In my area we have a Freecycle fb page which is great! If there's something you don't want, post a photo & description, also note if it's a SFPF (smoke free/pet free) home or other pertinent details; nearest main intersection; method you will use to select who gets your item. Moderators check & post to the group page & people indicate interest. Private Message is sent to share specific pick up location. It works really well! Amazing the stuff that people give away. It also will accept ISO posts (in search of) if you're looking for something specific. There's also 'curb alert' posts - if people notice something left at curbside they snap a photo & post it along with location - anybody interested can go pick stuff up. I moved a few things out of my house this week (and many others in the past!) - a set of cloth napkins; a seed bead collection, with needles etc for crafting; and a 'purse buddy' item. :)

I am pleasantly surprised by my own hospital. All nurses, doctors, staff in general were wonderful, explained everything, took time. Even the mattress was great ( I am often involved in choosing mattresses with regards to treating pressure sores and have been finding worn out ones which we sent right to the dump).
Thankful for professional lab technicians who can skillfully take blood. ( I always have to look away for that). And those heated blankets after surgery- we are so fortunate with our health system compared to other countries.

I'm glad things went well and they took good care of you!
Hopefully you're still feeling pretty comfortable.

Oh yes - those heated blankets are AMAZING!!! Nice to have a good experience in hospital - it often is different I think from 'the other side of the fence'. :) Sending light & love for your recovery.

There’s a similar site here, but not Facebook, for buy/ sell/trade/ or free. Items for sale usually really cheap...Just a few dollars. Except rugs. Decent rugs are cheaper than new, but people still seem to want to get as much as they can for good ones. I’m interested in one (really need a bigger/ better area rug) that’s $40. That’s cheap..photo looks good but I will have to see it in person first. I don’t want to spend all my own money fixing the place up especially with stuff like rugs/ carpet...it’s needed here. Disappointed, a wee bit, that my step-sister in-law hasn’t offered to help with a couple of things in particular that are needed down here. She said it’s the best it’s ever looked in here (this ‘furnished’ suite)...which is good for her too. If I get a big carpet chances are I will leave it here for the next tenants’ benefit when I move, so... anyway. I think she’s perfectly happy for the tenants to do improvements themselves and doesn’t care too much one way or the other what they do. At least I get to choose how, which is fun. She did loan a couple of her own cute kitchen chairs that were needed, temporarily though. She said she wants to find something else , but they don’t really get things done fast. Oh well. I was sending her photos of chairs for sale, cheap. I was thinking of folding chairs, more versatile for this smaller space. Still, the kitchen chairs look nice, and maybe I won’t be in this place that long, so that’s fine anyway.

My biggest challenge with no vehicle is getting larger items from the thrift store or Restore. I use the bus and there isn't much I can carry, and apparently delivery across the river is $70!!!!! Not that far either.

Really not doing ok.
Copper levels are high - can do damage to liver, kidneys and brain.
Liver issues can make copper rise though too. Most of my liver markers are looking ok, 2 are not.
We were assume the former with me, but ultrasound is suggesting latter.
My internist was expecting a normal ultrasound, it is not. Multiple spots, one quite large. The phrase suspected metastatic is on there. Need a biopsy and MRI before anything is diagnosed.

Stuff has to be arranged with 2 hospitals for the biopsy. The normal receptionist wasn't even there today. I don't know what to do. I have no dates.

One of the enzymes started going up in 2015. Many of my symptoms are likely connected. Why didn't anyone ever say anything to me before? Why was it on me to bring up the enzyme?

I've always felt like my HAE got so bad to the point were it did get diagnosed because something was triggering it. I think this is that thing. Just because blood tests were normal before then doesn't mean that something wasn't happening.

Sounds worriesome for you ChemGal. Hoping you don't have to exercise your patience too long before you get a date for the biopsy. Waiting is hard.

f***
I have been calling my GPs office since Sept for an appointment. I couldn't get one for a while to discuss results as they were insisting results wasn't concerning.
They cancelled one.
I called twice today as there is no communication between providers, including results most of the time. I have better access than my GP most of the time. Wanted to make sure my GP has seen stuff before the appointment which I finally got.
They called me AFTER I had already spoken to them twice. To cancel my appointment.
