Stay cool back there. Today is starting off sunny and bright. We will be going for a walk with friends today.

I don’t know if I have mentioned this before- but it is getting hot and I am bringing some German ice coffee and ice chocolate ( not that watery Canadian stuff)
1. Make chocolate milk or coffee- put in fridge until nice and cold
2. Put in glass, float real vanilla ice cream and top with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles and a cherry

One of our sons came over today. Usually we sit outside but it was way too cold and wet for that. The conversation rambled around until something was said about tartaric acid. That is easy enough to get, said hubby, it is plain ordinary cream of tartar. Son looks blank. I jumped up and got the cream of tartar from the cupboard. The conversation ambled on until son read the package "Best Before 1993". Ooooops.

I so get that Kay! Cream of Tartar is one of those ingredients we use about 1/8 tsp at a time!

And tartaric acid expiring makes about as much sense as salt expiring. It's a chemical, like salt. As long as it doesn't get wet, probably lasts close to forever. My cream of tartar bottle has my dad's handwriting on it, and he's been dead 20 years. I use the odd 1/8 tsp to stabilize egg whites and it still works.

Good morning, all! The beverage cart is ready for your hot beverage needs. I've checked all the code dates here, everything is still well before its 'best by' date.

It is raining here, Hallelujah.

I have 20 plants to get in the ground after a great trip to 2 nurseries.

Thanks for the coffee

Coffee ... always a welcome start to my day. Thank you.
Rain ... just waiting for some showers here - your report Pinga tells me they are on their way. I have an errand to do so I'm hoping for a break later & to get out to fertilize the lawn.

Good morning! Friday has happened! Time for coffee, tea, and etc!
(Moves around room, fluffing cushions and straightening up the magazines and books)

We had a delightful rain that lasted most of the day and evening. Air is fresh and cool. A bit of coffee then out for some gardening.

My hips are sore most of the time with this gardening, but, it is a good sore and i hope that with time it will ease. I know all the bending and squatting are good for me.

Hi Pinga, would you please send some of that rain and cooler weather to the east. We needed here in New Brunswick.
Actually, as often happens, Ontario whether comes this way about a day late. We are expecting cooler whether and rain showers tomorrow.

Summer came upon us so quickly This year that it looks like we won't get many fiddleheads, if any. If they come up too early, They freeze. When hot weather gets here, you can almost hear the growing. One day they're just peeking out of the ground and it seems the next day they shot up and unfurl into ferns. You have to get them in between times. In a good season,There is about three weeks of picking time. This year it seemed to be only a few days and people who don't live near a stream with the right conditions could easily miss the season.

A stormy day here but still got our walks in. My big fun news is that our frogs have hatched tad poles. We have had what sounds like dozens of frogs singing away this month. And today there are thousands of little tad poles clinging to the rocks. At least they are smart to try and stay away from the pond trout and turtles
