Physical Isolation: Things to do?

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

Education is a very dangerous domain ... knowledge is even considered evil by God and many world leaders causing certain trimming of budgets!

Thus nothing approaches as if it were the ultimate absolute! Can you prove nothing without evidence? The a daemon appeared out of nowhere ... nowhere was something previously covered and fabricated!

There's nothing like it ... except when too old to do anything but be critical about cults and other gatherings ... cranks!

This is a nice thread.

Because I'm in a campground, I am surrounded by beautiful nature. We had a campfire last night. We weren't quite the recommended distance apart. We were outside enjoying fresh air, hopefully safe. Perhaps this was a calculated risk. The park has cancelled the potluck and a craft event this week. They've made changes in the office to reduce risk to people who visit the office and to the staff.

I have done some decluttering. I want to try my hand at making a quilt. I'm going to start with a baby quilt. I have to go out for bloodwork today so I am also going to stop by the quilt store to see if I can get what I need. That way if it comes down to total seclusion, I'll have another activity. Thank goodness for online resources for learning.

I've got some seedlings that have now germinated - Chantilly snapdragons, parsley, sweet heat peppers. So yesterday my mate hung the grow light & we moved 'the grow op' upstairs. Weird pink light emanating from the room! LOL this week I will most likely start a couple of other things. Spring WILL come!

Do you have any sense of where you might be staying this summer Northwind?

Well, that has changed and is probably ever evolving. At this point, we will be house sitting in May and June, if all goes to plan. After that, we would like to visit friends in Northern BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. One of our resident WC2 members is on our list. We don't know how that will all happen at this point. This virus adds an interesting twist, for lack of a better way to express it. I imagine if we're mostly on the island, we'll be able to go to different parks and see more of the place. We can also stay at my sister's place as needed. We'll manage. I've been thinking of this recently. It's a little scary, but we'll manage.

My son is thinking about ordering a full-sized keyboard from Amazon and starting to play piano again. He got to Grade 6 or so in the Royal Conservatory program before giving it up. Apparently his roommate and girlfriend play instruments, too, so there's talk of a band forming.

Lovely photos, Northwind!

My corner of Canada has a ways to go yet before it will be that green.

My trip to the grocery store today was unpredictable. I got some lovely fresh strawberries at a rock bottom price - the store was trying to shift them before they went bad. (I guess fresh strawberries are not a prime item for the panic hoarders.....)
On the other hand, the sliced bread shelf was bare as can be.......it's a good think I have a breadmaker, and lots of flours, yeast, and extras like dried apricots and walnuts - I'll be making my own bread and waffles for a few weeks.

Gas is the lowest price it's been in 20 years......

Good time to take my two teens (both have their learner's permits) for driving lessons this week.

I've been enjoying my morning walks in the dazzling ON sunshine (although it's crisp.)
I would normally be at work between 8:00-9:00 am, so I'm trying to take advantage of being off work.
I saw cardinals, pigeons, woodpeckers, and chickadees. (I'm pretty sure I heard a robin, but I didn't see it.)
I'm fascinated that the birds are completely oblivious to the COVID19 situation around them.
They are all enthusiastically looking for food, for mates, for nesting material, all without a single thought to what's happening in the human world. Reminds me of the scripture about birds of the air and lilies of the field.

Make sure weighted keys.

I got some fabric yesterday and plan to make a baby quilt. I have a simple pattern and cheerful colours. I may need prayers......

Our earlier winter State of Emergency gave us a dry-run in isolation.

This one should be easier because there aren't presently the same restrictions. So long as the grocery stores do not close completely we'll just enjoy more family time.

I'm going to become more active in generating social media content in an attempt to keep our scattered saints feeling like a gathered community.

The Board at George Street has asked all employees to work from home as much as possible. I might pop down to the office if it gets too noisy here.

Sadly we are starting to see warmer temps so our snowpack is starting to melt which makes playing in the yard an exercise in ankle and knee injury avoidance.

Install toilet, remove popcorn ceiling, remove carpet. Paint and install laminate. Stain and finish table and chairs. Refinish dresser. Cook interesting stuff with limited ingredients. Probably setup room for father in-law to move in. Then if possible I want to learn to take better pictures. And short funny movies.

there is an app that allows you to read over 100 magazines for similar price to Netflix, I think, may look into that. Lots of libraries have free online content. Movies and books and audio books.

there is also a group that is planning to crowd source(that may not be right term). But it is worldwide collaboration to build medical items like ventilators who will take help from anybody with any skills.

Great list, Pontifex Geronimo 13! I wish I felt that enthusiastic about home projects.

I have been "cooking interesting stuff." Yesterday, I made banana bread with three different flavours of chocolate chips.

We also made homemade pizza. I put bread dough in the breadmaker, and we made excellent pizza, heavy on the artichoke hearts.
(I found lots of canned artichoke hearts. I guess artichoke hearts are not a prime item for the panic hoarders.)
