Search

To search go to the main forum page by clicking forums near the top of the page. In the bar just below Forums, click Search Forums. This page gives various options to help you find what you're looking for.

Recent Posts & Activity

When you are in the forums section (click Forums near the top of the page if you are not in this section already), New Posts shows up near the top. If you click on this, you will be taken to a list of all the threads that contain posts that you have not yet seen. Above this list, on the right hand side you can click Recent Posts. This will list the posts on the forums in order, whether or not you have seen them.

If you do not have any new posts, this message will appear:
You have no unread posts. You may view all recent posts instead.
Clicking the words 'view all recent posts' will take you to the Recent Posts.

In the members section, you can click Recent Activity near the top of the page. This will take you to a list that is similar to Recent Posts, but it also includes other activity on the site, such as someone changing their avatar or other public profile information.

Subforum Symbols

When you are on a subforum page, there are some symbols to help you see certain activity.

Thread titles that are bold mean that there are unread posts.

In the list of threads, on the left hand side a square appears of the original poster's avatar. If you have also posted in the thread, your avatar will appear smaller, partially overlapping the OP's avatar. If you hover your mouse over your avatar, a message will appear stating how many posts you have in that thread.

Further to the right, under the Start Date heading, you may see symbols. Not all threads have them. Hovering over the symbol with your mouse will tell you what it means, but here is a partial list:
Eye - you are watching this thread
Paperclip - the thread has been stickied to the top of the subforum page
Blue arrow - the thread has been moved elsewhere

Sorting Threads

On a subforum page, the default is to have the threads with the most recent posts to be at the top. You can arrange this list by any of the headings in ascending or descending order by clicking the heading once or twice:
  • Title
  • Start Date
  • Replies
  • Views
  • Last message (the default setting)

Trophies

This site gives trophies and points with each trophy. Trophies are awarded for posting, and when people like your posts.

You can find some of the more active members, by going to the member section, and sorting by most messages, most likes or most points. You can also find the staff members here.

You can see a member's number of posts, number of likes and points on their profile box.

Below, I have copied the trophies and their point values from the trophy section on the help page.

  1. 1
    First Message
Post a message somewhere on the site to receive this.

  2. 2
    Somebody Likes You
Somebody out there liked one of your messages. Keep posting like that for more!

  3. 5

  4. 10

You've posted 100 messages. I hope this took you more than a day!

  5. 10

Your messages have been liked 25 times.

  6. 15

Content you have posted has attracted 100 likes.

  7. 20

    1,000 messages? Impressive!

  8. 20

Ways to Interact with Other Members

In addition to having discussions on the forums (see Basic Posting & Forum Info), and having more private conversations (see Conversations), you can also interact with members using their profile pages.

To do this, go to a members profile page. You can do this by bringing up their profile box by clicking their name anywhere on the forums or from a conversation and then clicking profile page.

Clicking someone's name or searching for them in the members section will take you directly to their page.

Once on their page, under the profile posts, you can write a message. This message can be seen by anyone who can view their profile page. If a reply box doesn't appear, it's because their privacy settings are not allowing you to post.

While on someone's profile page, you can also click to see their recent activity, and postings they have shared, and the profile information they have made available to you

ChemGal, I am pleased to share that you are the recipient of our newest custom trophy: Volunteer Extraordinaire.
It is awarded for all your hardwork in the initial testing, and in these FAQ's. Thank-you!

well, mendalla suggested a bonus as part of your package, based on years of salary & a % of your annual WonderCafe2 salary.
I was suggesting that your pension be increased...

It was tough.
