Our Netflix account was hacked last week. The account uses my bf’s email, he received one informing him that his password had been successfully changed and almost instantly another one informing him that his email had been changed. To make sure it wasn’t a phishing scam I tried to sign in using his email and the response was that no account with that email could be found. Luckily, he was able to contact Netflix via chat and they looked into it and gave us back the account almost instantly. We’re not sure how they were able to get in but the chat agent said it was easier since we didn’t have a phone number attached to the account. My credit card was the one attached to the account and while the agent said it shouldn’t have been compromised, I decided to cancel it and get a new one anyway.
Ours was stolen a couple years ago. We weren't watching much and didn't notice for a month. Took a call to get it back, and the guy who stole it watched crap so it took a while to get my suggested shows halfway decent again.

One of my common passwords was compromised on a website and it floated around the Internet as part of a huge list, and I guess someone tried that email/password combo on Netflix and it worked. I knew about it and thought I had changed my passwords, but forgot Netflix.

I feel like smoking a bit of green tobacco and binge watching the entire season of the new Dolly Parton show.
It looks good, doesn't it? I'm not a huge country fan, but we watched the Ken Burn's Country Documentary and it was fascinating. Pretty much binged it over two weekends. I had no idea that people like Dolly and Willie Nelson were responsible for writing so many iconic songs!

Started watching the series Virgin River....I'm actually enjoying it, the actors are good and even though it has the usual predictabilities, it's a pleasant way to spend some "chill time".
About a Nurse who's had to deal with some tough things in her life and chooses to escape the city to work with a country doctor in a small village called Virgin River.

Oh, I just finished that first season, but now it is so open ended- I want to know how it continues. By the time the second season is on netflix, I will probably not remember the first one.

Just started binging "The Messiah" on Netflix.......I'm finding it fascinating.
The premise is "the Messiah" has come, or so some think (still not sure myself), he is not called Jesus, just the Messiah. He speaks Arabic, Hebrew, English, etc, quotes the Quoran, Bible and the Torah......he says he does not represent any religious group but all people.
He appears in the middle east and America.....and of course the gov't gets involved because they are suspicious of someone who wants peace in the world and think it is a "tactic" to put everyone off guard. There are some who believe he is the Messiah and those who think he's a fraud.....interesting take on how our world would respond....still haven't finished the first season and so far there is only one.....hopefully they are working on the second.

Oh and the "Messiah" is not a blue eyed anglicized version......he is more convincing than that.
And I'm learning some of the Koran.

Depends on which side of the combative politix you're on ... if a peaceful person both industrial warriors will wish to exterminate you ... thus intermediate dimensions are out there ... denied intellect! Consequence: we lose thoughts on a regular cycle!

I'll avoid spoiling it by giving details, but I remember reading that the Messiah's name actually spoiled the ending of season one for those who know Arabic.

Have you watched it? I actually think it would make a good thread for discussion.

I haven't re-upped Netflix yet. Debating whether to reactivate it or get Prime TV and watch Good Omens first. And once I do re-up, priority is Haunting of Hill House. Messiah would be on my radar though and if a discussion broke out here, I would probably watch it at that point.

Oh, and if you wanted to do it as an episode by episode thing (not sure if it lends itself to that), it could even go in Study Groups. If you just wanted a thread on the series as a whole and its themes, then R&F would be more appropriate.

It would be episode by episode and probably R&F for more exposure.....still thinking about it.....maybe I should check to see how many people have Netflix and would be interested?

Good plan. R&F is good. The way we have set things up, you would have to start it there anyhow and then get us to move to Study Groups. Do put some specific thread guidelines in the opening. That will help avoid threadcrapping or at least give you leverage if someone does do it. Mods will, of course, be available to help if someone is being disruptive.

I will drop out of course or be outlawed for speaking too deep and beneath the general superficial interests that ignore the stink of human high-handedness! Dead and archaic language is like that ... simulating a god as is stated in some spooky scripts that God is the word and reciprocolly so ... a literary device that failed!

You can't get there from the average position as paradigmatic! The average Joe isn't welcome by elites or their opposition ... thus a failed populace! Makes for a grand story ...

At your suggestion, I have been watching it all afternoon, while taking down my Christmas decoration. He is still very Jesus like to me, too much so. It would be worth a discussion for sure.

Just remembering that there was a fair bit of chat around a 'returned Jesus' some years back. He was reported to be living near the docks in London.
