I don't actually buy much made in the USA these days, but China is almost impossible to avoid. Some of the stuff we import from there simply is not made in Canada anymore. Even a lot of goods from more developed Asian countries like Japan and Korea are actually manufactured in Chinese factories due to lower overhead (Samsung, I'm lookin' at you, though I see they are now using Vietnam as well). For clothing, places like India and Bangladesh are starting to become the sweat shop of choice, so there's options there.
In the end, the reality is that all nations need to step up and focussing on the US and China without upping our own game just makes us hypocrites.
