Phosphate in complex forms is causing a bloom of deadly algae in NB rivers ... thus phosphate flows too! From here to there ... wherever that might be we don't know ... due to present shortages of knowledge and wisdom or the will not to use what's subtle!

Intellect is part of the mined out there syndrome ...

La La Land to those in a dreamland of wiles ... a film noire?

Take the quiz and find out what you really know and don’t know about solutions to climate change....
I got as far as 6 and then realized that the best solution seems to be take all the cars off the road.

Actually, if you keep going then there will be a last one telling you which ones are the most important ones

Railways and the energy consumption to move bodies ... are reasonably efficient compared to flyers ...

However high Merc's teles they wish more waste ... and thus the fallout and fallacy! It's prodigal ... might as well dance to their song at a distance ... thus retreatism!

AD UN's and it gets denser ... gravidas? Tis a bummer ...

I love Project Drawdown, although I was not good at remembering what priority the solutions had.

What amazes me about this project that it is 80 solutions we can implement today, and 20 with great potential to be developed. They exist right now. Many of them are applicable/scalable to the individual/local/global level. It is a very hopeful project in a world that often seems paralyzed by despair on this issue.

Smart way of demonstrating in times of Covid- Extinction rebellion brought a pair of shoes for every demonstrator- perfect social distancing!
I once took an Arts and Social Justice series of courses at a university - extended learning. We learned of all kinds of theory, Friere and Boaol; Theatre of the Opressed, and real life examples of art as protest. This would be a good example. Except, my cynical side says "What will it accomplish in these times where everything is photographed for social media and gets 5 minutes of fame, except a statement that no one will care about by next week?"

It does f***ing belong here! @Northwind That's why I followed with the article about Greta and the politician suggesting now is the perfect time to build pipelines because large groups of protestors can't gather. I was skeptical about that from the beginning. And as Greta said, much of the world operates this way...opportunistic people in power. It's not a conspiracy theory it's a fact we need to face and change.

Tell me a hostile climate does not lead to extinction ... rather than levity! Then was Jesus not the light in parables and was downgraded!

It actually is a good time to build pipelines. People need work. Eventually we will need oil. And we are held to ransom by oil w buy from Saudi and elsewhere

there was an article in the weekend, that I cant find now, that spoke to the changes in oil use we have seen since the lock downs began. And it highlighted the issue that environmentalist need to stop fighting the idea of getting oil out of the ground and instead focus on decreasing demand. When demand is decreased, like no international travel, we see what happens

limited travel, or travel too expensive for most of us
working from home
roads giving over a lane to bikes and walkers, permanently
limited boating (did you read how quiet the waters around B.C. are because if restrictions? Marine life is happy, whale watching tours not so much)

those things alone would make a big difference. And as demand goes down, we will still need oil but we Will see changes
