Around the world Muslims will be ending their long fast and partake in the Feast of Breaking the Fast called Eid al-Fitr.
For the past month Muslims have been fasting from Dawn to Sunset during Ramadan. Want to know what the standard is? Ask a Muslim and they will tell you their standard. Their religion is even more diverse than Christianity...they are more truly like Krisnamurti's riff on everyone having their own religion. Which works both ways: since Islam is so truly diverse, there is no Islamophobia because there is no, unlike say Christianity, one standard. However, there are people who do call their own interpretation the right one. That is how humans are. We are social hierarchial beings who will always have status. People above and people below. People with less and people with more. Difference, not equality of outcome. B L A H!!!
As you may remember my new landlady and lord are Muslims from Fiji. They have been very kind and generous. Their children are a treasure. I have been invited to their feast. Their family from Fiji will (and some are) visiting.
Such is life.
I look at other parts of the world, seeing the chaos and madness and stupidity and evil (cf. Berkeley Riots, Iraq Occupation, Ukraine War, Identity Politics becoming more and more a part of university life, Postmodernism and Marxism entering even the hard sciences, nondiscovery of the cuton and so forth). But like the Irish Proverb "it is in the shelter of each other where the people live."
I am blessed and indeed quite fortunate.
Not to mention exhausted by the current heatwave here. After doing churchyardwork in 30 degree heat. Yeah. No points 4 me.
I'll leave you with something that I came across. Apparently some in the distant past had other interesting ways of portraying the Trinity.
I find them very trippy.
(And our LadyLord with eyeliner...awe. Some)
