Okay. What I have actually said is that we can't shut off the taps right away. I've said that homes cannot be heated at -40 with current technology. It needs more development and probably some financial subsidies for many people. I've said that yes, green technology needs to happen. Perhaps I didn't spell out that it needs to happen sooner than later. I said that some oil companies have been becoming more environmentally aware. That does not mean I trust them. I have not ignored the science. That is you drawing your own conclusions based on minimal information. I have not spoken favourably about the industry. What I HAVE said is it can't be shut down right away without consequences.

You are so much better at judgement than st offering ideas.

Nobody has suggested it should be shut down right away. The issue is how soon it HAS to be shut down.

And I have never suggested a time line. You're the doom and gloom guy. It sure seems you want it shut down sooner than later.

Of course it needs to be sooner than later. The whole energy concept needs to be turned around sooner than later or there will not be a later. So any government money needs to go towards alternatives, and not towards buying pipelines.

That I agree with. Let the oil industry deal with the pipeline. Or, even better, sell it to the indigenous nations that have expressed interest and let them profit from it.

Something I was very disappointed by during the election - despite all the parties claiming that their campaigns were out and about, busy knocking on doors and listening to voters, etc., not a single party leader, candidate nor representative visited my city. No one came to my door. No one even called on the phone.

Wouldn't that be a stretch like elastic? The GM promise ...
