Sad news for those of us who are. Harry Anderson, who starred as Judge Harry Stone on the show has passed away at 65.

'Night Court' actor Harry Anderson dies in Asheville

Anderson was a very funny, entertaining actor and also a professional magician. He was kind of the ringmaster of one of the weird, wackest casts on American television in the eighties on Night Court. During the same period, he also had periodic guest spots on Cheers as con man Harry the Hat.

I loved night court. Great characters playing off beat storylines.

Barney miller was also one of my faces, primarily due to abe vigoda aka Fish

That is sad. I really liked Harry Anderson on Night Court and Cheers. I think the first place I saw him was on SNL (or possibly The Tonight Show) doing magic. RIP Harry Anderson.

I was just about to post this. I loved Night Court. Great TV show. Harry Anderson was a funny guy and Judge Stone was a great character. I was in my 20's - and so I was far too old to have had a crush on Markie Post. Far too old, indeed!

I remember NBC's "Must See TV" Thursday night lineup for a few years in the 80's:

8:00 - The Cosby Show
8:30 - Family Ties
9:00 - Cheers
9:30 - Night Court

That has to be the best two hour block of TV comedy programming at least in my lifetime. That block just regularly crushed everything else in the ratings. It was lights out for the other networks from 8:00-10:00 on Thursday nights.

Night Court ... with some authorities teasing the darkness? It can erupt ... emerge as demiurge ... just too cheeky!

Metaphor and satyr is like that ... pseudonym! Once read into you fall and role OVE ... mental upset defining nothing due to general denial of psyche ... Tai chi chen?

Word is like that ...

Too old? She's older than you. Why too old? (n) Or, maybe you mean too old to have a crush on a TV star, generally. Nah!

Yep. Another classic cast. Abe was an incredible talent, with roles ranging from Fish to the much darker and more dramatic part of Salvatore Tessio in The Godfather. Checking up on him, I see he actually just died two years ago at age 94. Somehow, he always seemed old to me, but I guess that age means he was actually only in his fifties when he did Godfather and Miller.

And Fish. :)

Sure you were.
Anyway - I never had a chance against Judge Stone.
