I probably should be working.
Do you make resolutions? If so, what are they?

What were the high points of your 2018? Are there things you are looking forward to in 2019?

As a rule I don't make resolutions.

I do, however, enjoy thinking about the year past and the year ahead.

2018 was pretty amazing year for me! I celebrated 25 years with my husband and we went on an unforgettable two week Baltic cruise. I also got to take two separate trips with two of my three children. I took my youngest, a theatre-mad 17-year old, to see Hamilton and Dear Evan Hanson on Broadway. In December I took my hockey-mad eldest to Florida to see the Leafs play twice (tickets in Toronto are difficult to purchase and expensive!).

In 2018 I also became adjunct faculty at the faith based college at our local university. I love my job and the people with whom I work. I've also had some amazing opportunities to meet some wonderful theologians at conferences, and got some experience presenting to boot! I completed hiking the almost 900 km Bruce Trail - something I had been working on for three years. That was a huge highlight for me!!

I hope to FINISH my PhD in 2019. When you consider that I have been working on it (on and off) for almost 7 years I would say it is time!

If we look at the past year .. the future looks grim if that is the leadership we support ...

Sorry, negative observation sometimes has to be swallowed ...

Do you make resolutions? If so, what are they?

Nope. At least, I don't do so at New Year's. I do make resolutions when a resolution needs to be made appropriate to circumstances. Making an arbitrary resolution at an arbitrary time is kind.of meaningless.

Are there things you are looking forward to in 2019?

Not sure. It is my 20th anniversary on my job but I am not sure how much I look forward to it. It's a great job in a great company but my heart just isn't in it these days.

Beyond that, who knows. With Little M in co-op, perhaps our first no-kid vacation since, like, 2005.

We shall see what the year brings, I guess.

What were the high points of your 2018?

Some successes at work. Little M making the dean's list after being a bit of a slacker in high school. Our trip to the Appalachians.

2018 - Finishing my Master of Divinity, moving to Korea, starting work as a teacher, spending time with my granddaughter, Yobo's sweet love.

2019 - A trip to Busan.

Mastering Aliens cryptic adages ... nun knows where these come from due to rejection and denial of the abstract psyche!

Tis sometimes said to be a dark formless void and thus with extracting arms that can cause a thought provoking loss of the aforesaid ... primal powers? Thus instances of degrading of wisdom ... from the general surroundings ... environmental failure? Strange "-ism" as a bum*Marah ... often with that wiggle of sassafras ... another misunderstood herb!

Polytech is this:
  • Sassafras is a small, fast growing tree that can only flower after 10 years. Bark of the Sassafras produces orange dye and the roots are used to make oil of Sassafras which is an ingredient in soaps and perfumes. The bark was also used to make tea and root beer.
