TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

I don't believe for a second that Trump is pro-life. He only expresses some of those views to get votes.
Careful ... thinking this way gets you labelled as 'insane' when you live in a 'civilization', which seems to think that a vote for genocide -- whether by abortion or by warfare -- is perfectly sane!.

Remember things as materialistic are generally secularly incarnate ... or appear not as they are ... to support imagery! Thus what's insane is not they way we think ... an off spin of emotionalism?

For the record, I am not arguing for abortion.
For the record, I am not arguing against it.

I am arguing against it being a matter of 'political' persuasion one way or the other.

Technology and science have given women unprecedented options and control over fertility since 1973.

Back then, single women had only recently gained nationwide access to birth control.

Now we have these incredibly effective contraceptive methods available.

The morning-after pill without a prescription - keep some in the medicine cabinet for 'emergencies'.

Smartphones send birth control reminders.

A matchstick-size implant gives no-hassle contraception for years at a time.

Surgical abortion has become safer, employing tools that use vacuum pressure rather than scraping.

Medication alternative: Ending a pregnancy with mifepristone and misoprostol.

Sit in the comfort of your home instead of doing it in a clinic or in a back alley.

For women today, there's even abortion by mail.

Images of coat hangers 'sometimes' used in illegal abortions many decades ago - no longer relevant.

Warnings that large numbers of women would die from unsafe abortions if Roe were overturned don't reflect the fact that abortion-related deaths - which numbered as high as 2,700 in 1930 - fell to under 200 a year by the mid-1960s thanks to the development of antibiotics and other medical advances.

To the extent that women can get and use misoprostol to end pregnancies at home, women even in states with bans would have a relatively safe option. It's available only by prescription in the U.S. but is available online from some countries where it is sold over the counter.

Changing the laws on a 'political' level will not put those 'genies back in the bottle'.

Trump made horrible statement when he was campaigning in the south before he was elected. He talked about ''ripping'' which clinched the deal for a lot of voters Nasty. No man's business (unless he's your doctor).

Then there was Jack in the shades of London ... eerie ...

Jesus said he is the truth.
He also said, truthfully, that he was among us as one who serves; as mothers, sisters, aunties and grandmas served in his day. This in contrast to those who sat down at table and were served by others. Sort of like Christian folk on a pleasure cruise with "Focus On the Family". Enjoying the vices of pride and gluttony. The billions spent on such cruises would be better expended to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and relieve the oppressed in all places. Such Christians will be unpleasantly surprised when the light comes on. Not understood as the punishment of God. Simply as the consequence of their sin. Just as Herod is exposed by history Trump will be exposed by history. Just as the religious folk who supported Herod were judged, the religious folk who support Trump will be judged. Neither of whom makes present any evidence suggesting loyalty to the way of Jesus. Which is the way of service to the lost and the broken of our world, including the foreigner in our land.

Animated by the spirit of truth, Isaiah said these words in the hearing of Israel's religious leaders:

"Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. Come now, let us argue it out, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool."

This is the way of God revealed in the good news about Jesus. That millions avoid this straight and narrow way by claiming absolution by the blood of Jesus is hypocrisy. Such folk play at being followers of Jesus while living as followers of those who rule this world and its peoples. The day of decision is upon us. Some will put their trust in politics and religion. I have put my trust in the way of God revealed in Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.

From the lips of Jesus in the Nazareth Synagogue:

"The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."

Perhaps we could encourage values such as modesty, temperance and virtue. These promote human well being. In contrast to pride, excess and promiscuity, which promote human disorder. Choosing the former will bring remedy for harm generated by the latter.

I'm not exactly sure what you meant in your post. I'll read it again. I think I agree with you that making abortion a political issue is wrong.

Dare I ask what "ripping" means......

A good start would be for people to stop murdering other people.

And do we acknowledge our complicity, through silence, with the powers who exploit the land and its peoples? Often by State sanctioned and Church blessed warfare!

Social unrest is inevitable.
Any population can be pushed only so far.
The deep state is incapable of reform and determined to retain its grip on power.
It will morph under the threat of popular unrest into a corporatized fascism.
It has at its disposal the legal and physical tools to instantly turn the United States into a police state.
This is the real danger behind the deep state’s drive to impeach Trump.
It is a stark message to obey or be silenced.
Trump, in the end, is not the problem.
We are.
If the deep state fails to rid itself of Trump it will use him to carry out its dirty work.
Trump, if he manages to survive in power, will get his military parades.
We will get, with or without Trump, tyranny.

The political philosopher Sheldon Wolin saw it all in his 2008 book “Democracy Incorporated:

Managed Democracy and the Specter of Inverted Totalitarianism.” He wrote:

The political role of corporate power, the corruption of the political and representative processes by the lobbying industry, the expansion of executive power at the expense of constitutional limitations, and the degradation of political dialogue promoted by the media are the basics of the system, not excrescences upon it.

The system would remain in place even if the Democratic Party attained a majority; and should that circumstance arise, the system will set tight limits to unwelcome changes, as is foreshadowed in the timidity of current Democratic proposals for reform. In the last analysis the much-lauded stability and conservatism of the American system owe nothing to lofty ideals, and everything to the irrefutable fact that it is shot through with corruption and awash in contributions primarily from wealthy and corporate donors.

When a minimum of a million dollars is required of House candidates and elected judges, and when patriotism is for the draft-free to extol and for the ordinary citizen to serve ...

In such times it is a simple act of bad faith to claim that politics-as-we-now-know-it can miraculously cure the evils which are essential to its existence.

Trump glees in this denied comment! Denial is a special effect when truth is disposed and eliminated due to political push and shove ...

Imagine shots ringing over Wall Street ... legally because of present status of the precedent of such desires!

Does lobbying come with lobotomies ... as parts appear non functional due to being silenced by tyranny? Mental myths about in the abstract of the thingy --- Levite Moral extension as hated projection?

Is Trump cognizant of what he says is detrimental to the utopian sense of America being a concept of equality of persons?

This cognizant nature might reduce Trump's values ... thus elimination and much Uri nall nations beyond US! Source of ami nes' ... and the chemistry goes on ... alchemi!

That is an old word too about kin in the love-hate complexity!
