Just build electric cars that dont need $7000 batteries when they cant be charged again. And stop making plastic. Businesses will be lost but thats the risk......im sure the video stores were pissed off too.

Maybe we could turn away from the use of cars. Humanity prospered without them for ages? One hundred years of use has brought us close to the edge of extinction. Cars being one example of our earth destroying patterns of practice.

The left are very funny in that they think you can just go off oil.

Iran has been stirring it up in the Strait of Hormuz. They are broke and need to sell oil.

They are the ones who hit the Saudi’s. The other article about how bombing the Aramco facilities and then saying we are not going to do that any more is an olive branch is insane.

The world basically produces the same amount of oil as it consumes. That is how it works and everyone and every industry is powered by fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are cheap, portable, efficient, plentiful and reliable.

The left wants to replace them with wind and solar, that carry the exact opposite characteristics. They think you can just shut off the taps and put up a 100 watt solar panel. That of course is more insanity. You can’t even build a solar panel or wind turbine without a lot of fossil fuel.

So it is fall and we are heading into winter heating season in the northern hemisphere.
Iran cannot win a war. But they can protect their oil facilities by bombing the Saudis.

Smart people know that if they run out of fossil fuels in Europe in the winter, people will die. A couple solar panels will have no effect.

That is crazy.

So Iran, so far, knocks out 6% of world oil production. Claim it wasn’t them, nudge nudge wink wink, and have bargaining power to get embargo’s lifted to fill the void in lost production.

The US is not going to hit their petroleum facilities when there is a shortage of supply.

And to suggest Israel would nuke Iran is ridiculous. If that was the plan, they could have done that long ago.

Meanwhile that is something Iran has promised it will do when given the chance.

Alberta can’t do anything to increase world supply because we are being held hostage by the rest of our own country.

Hi,
The left are very funny in that they think you can just go off oil.
Our social order will find it as difficult to give up oil as addicts find giving up narcotics. This is not to say it cannot be done. Only to say it requires decision and determination.
The world basically produces the same amount of oil as it consumes. That is how it works and everyone and every industry is powered by fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are cheap, portable, efficient, plentiful and reliable.
The right use of petroleum brings benefit. Misuse brings harm and abuse brings danger. For me it is a matter of deciding between the way of God and the way of money. Petroleum used to serve the common human good generates positive outcomes. Petroleum misused in service to private interest brings harm. Persistence in misuse will trend to abuse with dangerous consequence.

This is not true George. Relying on travelling by foot, man was always close to the edge of extinction. Why do you have a car? Why do you drive it? Why do you have a heated house? Because the benefits of fossil fuels far outweigh the cost. If people were to stop using fossil fuels today-every tree and spare stick of wood in North America would be burned up in 3 months. Let alone all the killing and fighting over the few remaining resources. No food being produced or transported. We may be dependent on fossil fuels, but the alternative is death to most all of the planet.

We shall see what follows the excessive consumption of a finite resource.

There may be an end to this slick myth! Meant to sike people out and make them contemplate ... a thing not required when definitely believing in something that could change! The disbelievers will be more apt to accept that things change! Thus alter ration of information regarding what's not as it appears ... the mined is a miraculous dark depressive place!

Hi,

Making use of natural means human being has survived and flourished for thousands of generations. An early example would be Abraham and his extended household. Now that we have preferred artificial means, the work of our own hands, human being is brought to the brink of chaos. That chaos being expressed as cataclysmic natural occurrences and disintegrating human relations in families, communities, and nations.

If you believe the bible, Moses lived to be several hundreds of years, so they must have been healthier than today.
Unfortunately, I don’t have space for a horse and the cat really sucks at pulling a sled.

However, I do agree that PG13’s argumentation is short sighted and leaves the impression he just wants to provoke instead of contributing to a fruitful discussion.

Pain is required to provoke learning for those emotional enough to be above the news, NU's and nous as intimately affects the unknowns ... no pain? This may be disturbing ... an Eris on the Luce ...

Even without Bolton...

It really kinda looks as though Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer and defacto national security advisor (can you say "shadow government" right wing conspiracy theorists? Who'da thunk fricken Rudy Giuliani would be a shadow government player, eh you guys?...except he's not in the shadows now, the whole world knows what he's been up to but he's not testifying in the impeachment trial is he? Wonder why? Nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. Clinton testified for hours on end about Benghazi, and was cleared...Guliani will not testify before congress. Dictatorship, much?) - how much was Rudy involved in this? (If at all, Trump needs to be removed.)

Trump just keeps on bulldozing democratic processes, taking the low-road, acting like a dictator himself. (Reminder: democratic presidents don't unilaterally use their personal lawyers to conduct national security and foreign affairs...or advise on regime change.)

I don't care how bad anyone thinks this commander was, it was a reckless and dictatorial move to go ahead and do that without NATO, without congressional approval...just like that.

A truly horrible impeachment distraction, if I may say so.

No congressional approval first, before killing Iran's top commander. Is that a war crime?

This really sucks.

Guliani said he would testify in the impeachment trial...so he says. Sorry. But it hardly matters because he'll just spout off about how whatever corruption was done, was justified.

And I don't know a lot about what's going on with Iran but what do you make of the fact that one of Guliani's clients was MEK? It's not hard to imagine and assume at least some connection.

According to this article...Clinton and Obama were involved in supporting MEK as well. So, I guess they're all the shadowy shadow government, even though it can be found in the mainstream news. I really don't know what to make of it. But according to this article...several years ago Guliani lobbied Hillary Clinton to change MEK's status and she got on board. And now he's Trump's unelected, private citizen, personal lawyer, conducting foreign affairs all over the place - which is, as far as I know, not legal - and feels pretty banana-republicy.

Trump needs to be removed from office by congress and senate. Senate needs to grow some courage. I hope they do. These reckless egomaniacs are putting the whole world in danger.

Why don't these "leaders" - all of those involved no matter what country they're from - grow the fk up - and stop holding the whole world hostage to their insane disputes and competitions?
