Songs that are a Guilty Pleasure

"Beth", by KISS. I like this acoustic version, done for MTV Unplugged, from their makeup-less period in the eighties. The original was mostly done on piano. It was, AFAIK, the only KISS song featuring drummer Peter Criss on vocals (and after he left, I believe his successor on drums also took lead on it).

Iconoclasm is the social belief in the importance of the destruction of icons and other images or monuments, most frequently for religious or political reasons. Wikipedia

Breaks me up too! Just the thought that stairway to heaven may have a come-down to it!

Kimmio, I believe I get to decide what songs I consider a "guilty pleasure" or as I consider it "cringe worthy to admit in public". I feel dismissed when you state that the song I posted does not meet the criteria. I think you were trying to be supportive but it does feel (to me) like you consider your views as more right than mine. Perhaps saying "Oh I like that one too" or something would work.

I suppose if I had a guilty pleasure (though I don't FEEL guilty....) it would have to do with my continued adoration for three animated chipmunks from the late 50's and early 60's named Simon, Theodore and Alvin (the originals from the 60's, not the third-rate knock-offs from the 1980's),. Often imitated but never duplicated, they stand alone at the top of the heap.

But the 80's knock offs were good too!I had the "Chipmunk Punk" (which was actually top 40 rock at the time, not punk) album in about 1980. I much prefer Alvin's rendition of My Sharona! The original sounds weird because I heard Alvin sing it first!

:)

Actually, next Mother's Day, I should make a point of remembering to thank my mom for putting up with Chipmunk Punk and Disco Duck when I was a little kid. I remember turning it way up, too. Alvin sang Blondie's "Call Me" and Tom Petty's "Refugee" pretty well too. ;)

:)

Chipmunks dig holes in my lawn and there is no heap of dirt around it ... where they put the excavated matter is a dark mystery ... like holy cows they are distributed gaps ... you could break a leg if you don't have broad foot ... big fete?
