Playing song tag has reminded me of some catchy tunes (mainly pop songs), that you enjoy but are sheepish to share. Here's your chance to confess your private musical likes without risking the lack of enthusiasm from those around you. No need to be cool.

I forgot I can't post videos right now, and so I can't say you've been Rick Rolled, but one guilty pleasure is:
Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. It's that voice!

B52s Love Shack and Rock Lobster

I will admit also to liking sappy Barry Manilow.

Then there's The Arrogant Worms.

I have a diverse taste in music.

For your listening pleasure

Kimmio's country post leads me to admit that after 20 years in the Peace Country I've come to like more country music. Heck, I've even learned to two step....

I really disliked Corb Lund when I first heard him. I love him now. He's a good teller with a sense of humour.

That's waaaay cool! Oh those romantic crooners! Luther Vandross...Endless Love (could anyone post that for me?)

AC/DC was kind of one for me at one time. I wasn't really supposed to be a fan of loud, guitar-based rock but somehow they slipped through the cracks. Nowadays, they seem to be regarded as a seminal band of hard rock so I guess there's no reason to be guilty about like them anymore. Heard this one on the radio a couple days ago. One of many great tunes on The Razor's Edge, the album that finally convinced me they were a band for me.

Jim Steinman's overblown epics (both with and without Meatloaf) are definitely not something everyone owns up to liking. I happen to love them quite unironically. However, I had not realized that he wrote this favorite of mine until I saw a recent live clip of Bonnie Tyler introducing it.

I think lots of us secretly or not like the BeeGees. Who can keep still?

I love the Bee Gees, but the disco era stuff is probably my least favorite of their output. I love the early sixties stuff and the last bit before Maurice's passing better. Still, it was part of the soundtrack of my youth (I was in junior high, or senior public as we called in Waterloo Region, during the disco era).

Keep 'em coming...check out a version of Endless Love on YouTube featuring Dubya and Tony Blair on YouTube too. It's a hoot.
