What would Jesus be?

P3, check Jeffrey Dale, youth ministry co-ordinator for my/our region. Dolly is totally an icon for him. We once did a Sunday service here in Barrie, that he led, featuring a really good singer who covered five of her songs, and he wove her philosophies into the service/message. Twas awesome.

Have never found a great deal of depth to Dolly Parton but it could be I have never listened closely enough.
She has lots of stories including "her coat of many colors", lots of followers, donates alot of money including vaccine research, writes some amazing songs, seems non judgemental, etc.....lol. What more could we ask for?

Southern Gospel does bust out in strange ways ... and we don't really know what's behind it!

The deeper perspective is obliterated by the surface curves ...

This may occur anywhere as the straight lines get all bent out of shape by law!

I'm enjoying the contributions to this thread. So far, my favourite is Folk Singer (helps that I loved Pete Seeger from the first verse!).
I suggest they could be a Garbage Person - maybe a Kindergarten Teacher- or a Vegetable Vendor.

Seer NG tunes ... and the driver laid the hammer down ... ⸔ .. imagine the pick'd seize ...

Such digs we cannot imagine if excessively superficial ...

They all tend to be story-telling cultures.
I actually maintain that ALL cultures are, at their heart, story-telling cultures. Humans are a story-telling species, it is in story that we find meaning.

Only fairly recently (well ok since the Enlightenment I guess) have Euro-Western cultures tried to pretend that we are fact and science based rather than story based.
"Fact" and science influence and inform the story and how we perceive truth

I wonder if people who are early and on-going readers are the inheritors of the story-telling gene. It's not a contemporary 'modern' cultural trait, in general.

Indigenous ... is that somehow related and connected to beginnings that are initiated sometimes without clues? Is pagan like a strange light of examination of what was previously abstract (thus black)? It is my innate sensei ...

Just responded to the most fascinating question. "So, back in the day, Jesus was a carpenter. What modern-day job would he have now instead?" (forgive the awkward phrasing; not mine).
While there is one Gospel reference to Jesus being a carpenter, I doubt we could have guessed his occupation by what we know of his vocation.

Based on his own words I bet most would guess he was a farmer or gardener.

But maybe that is just my poor reading of the text. Does anybody see clearly Jesus bringing carpentry-related anecdotes or practices to his teaching?

Do we honor carpenters because Jesus was one?

Do we so honor carpenters that Jesus needs to be one?

We know he couldn't have been an electrician what does that mean for electricians?

Imagine a person so enlightened to create a tree of knowledge hated by a dark demonic group claiming to hold empire over the republic!

Sheer chaos ... and thus the terrorism proceeds ... especially when buried in the shrubbery ... iconic to say least or so the symbol goes ...
