It is fairly easy to post links to WC2 posts and threads on social media. I posted about "Revisiting Mark" on Twitter earlier this afternoon (I'll post the tweet in my next post as an example). It's a good way to show your friends and family what goes on here and also to promote the site.

To share posts and threads:
  1. Go to the post you wish to share. To share a thread, go to the opening post.
  2. In the top right corner of the post, locate the share icon (1587235113286.png). It's the same one that you'll find on other sites and apps, too.
  3. Click the share icon to get a list of supported social media (below)
    1. Menu of supported social media sites
  4. Click the logo of the social media site you wish to share it on. To email the link, click the envelope. To post on a site not listed, click the Copy icon to the left of the post link ( 1587235483219.png ) and then paste it into your post on the other site.
After this, I can only speak to Twitter. If your browser is logged into your Twitter already (or you are on a phone with the Twitter app logged in), then you just need to edit the tweet to add your personal comments (but don't mess with the address) and then click Tweet.

If someone can try using this to share a post on Facebook (or other sites, but I know FB is probably the most popular on here), I would appreciate you posting about it in case it is different in some way (really, it should be given the differences in capabilities between the sites).

If you just want to share about the site as a whole, by the way, go the forums page and scroll down until you see the "Share this page" widget on the right side (below Forum Statistics).

It works the same way as the sharing option for posts. Just click the logo for the site you want to share, the envelope to send a link in an email, or the copy icon to get a copy of the link to paste on sites not included in the sharing options.

Very nice!

The Revisiting Mark thread is a good one, if I do say so myself.
Just thinking a little internal advertising might not hurt . . .

Suggestion: Put a link to the thread in your signature. That's one of the ways I promo stories on my writing sites. If you don't know how to do a sig, I can bash out some documentation and post it in a thread.

Okay, will think about it. I have never used a signature here and I tend to keep them blocked. Just because they get repetitive to read on the threads.

They also don't display on mobile by default, which I kind of forgot when I suggested that.
