I just that was the natural state of affairs over there.:confused::D

Bung personified?

One never learns chit except through the experience of odd impacts ... like exposure of soul to real life! Tis a ruagh journey like wisdom ... it goes on and on ...

Ruagh; a word pronounced as rug in other traditions ... thus the magi carpet, tapestry and all that ...

Love is social justice?

I guess g_d is love is social justice then :3

(i still haven't listened 2 the service but have watched it with CC and the passion got through; maybe some of the witnesses weren't used 2 such passion? y'know like how showing a Canadian flag here can b seen as too much nationalism? or like how some Canadians react whenenver an American opens their mouth...we just can't handle their passion?)

I've been told that socialism ... especially in psyche doesn't exist ... allowing for none*xis*tential souls! Them that crossed the line ... into maid-up domains of angels and lesser demons!

Thoughts about bottom end or alternate NDs ... some lines required ... connecting dashes in the race!

They just announced on CNN that more Americans watched the wedding

than Brits. I told you @Jae that the US would really like a Royal Family and you disagreed.

Many Americans do seem fond of the British royal family crazyheart. That's a different thing though than the notion that Americans would like to have a royal family of their own.

The Americans I saw were pretty gaga over the wedding and the royals. I wonder if that was because Prince Harry was marrying an American.

That was undoubtedly a major part of it, but many Americans have long been fans of the royal family.

Finally watched the taped wedding. Had been waiting to watch with my daughter

Lovely service. Lately most weddings I have attended have been without a mention of god so it was nice to see God front and center

I was kind of blah on her dress. Yes simple and plain which was lovely but it felt loose in the bodice. Like it didn’t totally fit. Weight loss due to stress perhaps ?

The carriage ride after was lovely, the Duchess seemed quite thrilled with the crowd. We all thought the horse riders and out riders old be glad to get back to the castle. A couple of horses seemed unusually spooked by the crowds

The gaggle of little flower girls and page boys were sweet. Quite a British tradition. I always wonder why it doesn’t translate to here. Instead of all your fiends wearing dresses that look good on no one, try little girls they look sweet always

Victoria Beckham seems very dour in navy or black. Whatever colour. It was drab for a spring wedding

Many North American weddings include children in the parties. In our own case, we had three flowergirls, two ringbearers, an usher, and a junior bridesmaid.

Yes they do, but it is much more traditional in Canada to have a maid of honour, several bridesmaids who are close friends or relatives and one or two flower girls

That is what we do

Grooms have two or three or more ushers, plus a best man. It is just our tradition

Okay.

The couple I know who most recently got married had neither MOH nor BM. I feel at this point couples here just do whatever they want to do.

We had a MOH, bridesmaids, flowergirls, BM (though my pastor kept calling her "Best Person"), groomsmen, ushers, and ringbearers.

How about you Lastpointe?

The wedding was in an old church, but we only had 35 (?)people . I would say it was equal parts traditional and unconventional. Unfortunately the marriage wasn't as idyllic as the wedding but it is still a good memory, and I still care about my ex.

I h@d three attendants as did my hubby

No children as our niece was only 18 months

But I feel the concept of no adults and lots of children is very British upper class. Nice. Just norvwhat is done here

My kids. As people in their 20,s are in lots of weddings

Ours was in what was my church at the time (it's now the Church of both Yobo and I). We had traditional, contemporary, and traditional Korean elements.

Another lovely musical moment from the service. I love John Rutter and he did a beautiful job of setting this traditional blessing.

Kudoes to the Bride and Groom for both being able to sit like that for so long and for the Bride (mostly) being able to smile for so long

That must take intense training coachin

One couple brought their 6 mo. old to our wedding. He was good. But one of my friends had 5 yr twin boys who are really out of control, and another has twin boys, who were 6 but well behaved. She asked about bringing them but I felt that because I had to tell my other friend that I didn't think it would be appropriate for her kids, I had to say no to both friends. It's just that the one set of twins could've really made it a disaster - they are really noisey and rambunctious and screaming and demanding. They get into everything and won't listen to "no". They can be nice kids but I think they have serious ADHD. Just not the right venue for them - I could almost guarantee they would've gotten bored and caused nuisance. I felt kind of bad about it. But there were lots of people I couldn't invite just for other reasons, too.

She's an actress. Doing the same thing over and over for hours is part of the job for them.

speaking of actresses...
Nutmeg and I watched a play recently...a very intense one...and I was amazed at the ability of the performerz to go from intense emotion to seeming "normal" in such a short time. the play is called The Shape of Things by Neil LaBute and Nutmeg said it was the first time she wanted to boo at someone on stage due to the very good acting.
