LAST as I contemplate the significance of a first year expansion team making the finals. From Vegas, no less.

'Twas in large part the goalie. The LAST player the Penguins should have let go was Marc-Andre Fleury.

As the Habs found out with Price, sometimes the team that lives by the goalie, dies by the goalie.

LAST six newspaper bowls done...

It is, and poor Luce is some upset. Nothing I can really do except put the piano music on high and keep the windows closed in a few rooms where she can find a safe spot.

I don't think we had any scheduled here, either but they are available at the local convenience stores, and I heard a stream of pops and bangs....

Mmmmm...I didn't think I was outside very long today but I somehow managed to get a sunburn on my shoulders and back of neck.

Alberta doesn't seem to do fireworks the way other provinces do. Calgary has a fair number in the summer - Globalfest which is a competition between countries, where each gets a night for a fireworks display & other entertainment like singing and dancing, the grandstand show every night of the Stampede and then Canada Day.
I find less so here, although on Canada Day many different communities do them, so there are multiple small displays that may be close to each other - it's possible to catch different ones from one place if there isn't enough high stuff blocking one's view.
I would guess both cities have some for July 4th as well, as there are enough Americans living here where I know they have celebrations and I assume fireworks too, I'm not close enough to hear them.

They aren't going off randomly every long weekend though.
Only other times are New Year's Eve and Diwali which I think many are actually done illegally.

I found it really odd to see how many places were selling them when I was in ON one summer. Here you do not just see them randomly for sale in stores.

In AB the best place to buy fireworks was on Reserve. Different rules apply there. We camped with friends most long weekends in AB. And yes other campers usually had fireworks!

Yeah, whenever I heard of people planning to set off fireworks, it was camping, not within the city. I've never actually noticed any myself. While I wasn't spending the night anywhere we would be out at times after dark, using flashlights to pack up. Maybe still slightly too early for it though?

July 1st and New Year's are usually when we have community fireworks here...we have one family that likes to set them off for special occasions and birthdays so we sometimes get to see them as they set them off in the school parking lot across the street.

LAST as I marvel a how fast the baby robins on my porch have grown. Should be ready to start flying soon, me thinks.

Supposed to be another scorching hot day...I feel tired and sore not sure sure yet if I'll open the sale or if I'll plant...may spend the day horizontal.
